Moonlight
Street sign, lamps, glow-in-the-dark paint, wood
1’2” x 2’2” x 4”
2008

Moonlight combines physical elements that have designed material relationships with light.  The street sign reflects light while the glow-in-the-dark paint absorbs it and then releases it.  Since the glow-in-the-dark image can only be seen in low light environments, and since galleries and museums are traditionally well lit environments, the work maintains a certain selectivity. Only a few people will be able to see the “dark life” of the work.
